New Charlotte knows that feeling connected to the mission of the church is critical to your walk with God. No matter where you are in life, we want to partner with you to take your next step with Christ. We have created age appropriate environments geared to helping people grow in Christ.

New Charlotte strives to be known as a radically generous church by giving away our time, money, and talents to impact the local and global community. If you have questions or ideas please email

Greenway Park and Idlewild Elementary School

New Charlotte is excited to partner with Greenway Park and Idlewild Elementary School,  two Title One schools in our neighborhood.  Prayerfully consider how you can be involved.  You can volunteer to be a lunch buddy, reading buddy, or participate in our projects during the year.  Our Wednesday Morning community groups serve the second Wednesday of the month.

In the fall of 2015, we launched Day One, providing Teacher Survival Kits to teachers at Greenway Park and Idlewild Elementary School. These kits include school supplies, backpacks and supplies for the classrooms to alleviate the cost teachers would ordinarily incur. Students can begin learning on Day One.

We ended the school year with Project Books, giving each student in both schools 3 books of their choosing to read over the summer!  New Charlotte hosted a Scholastic Book Fair and went shopping.  The students were thrilled to have books of their own that they could take home.  We are helping to combat the “summer slide” in reading that each student faces each summer if they don’t keep up with their reading.

Thank you for your generosity in making Project Coats a success. We provided every student (650) at Greenway Park with a new, warm jacket to prepare them for the cold winter ahead.  We partnered with Columbia, Lands End and The Children’s Place to provide quality jackets at cost. We also donated coats to Idlewild Elementary. If you are interested in participation in the next project, contact Catherine Knuckles.

New Charlotte launched The Teacher Project in December 2013.  We provided 100 iPads and set up Room 211: A Teacher Resource Room for the teachers and students at Greenway Park.  We are helping teachers care for and prepare their students to succeed. New Charlotte is hoping to close the digital divide that exists in the technology world, and also provide coats, shoes, backpacks and school supplies for the teachers to care for their students.

Contact Catherine Knuckles if you would like more information about how you can get connected at the school and participate in the projects for the upcoming school year.
